Hi my crafty friends
I hope you all managed to survive the school Easter break back in April.
Quick as a flash the kiddies are back to school once again and well into term 2.
Leaving us adults looking at the days of the calendar roll on by.
But, lets take a minute to recall those back to school moments.
Do you all remember the excitement in the days leading up to starting school, getting your books ready and covered...looking at all your new pencil sets and case and checking that your uniform still fit.
Seems so long ago.
Now I have nieces and nephews to watch them go through all the same motions.
For this layout I used the Echo Park - Witches & Wizard Collection
However, you will notice there is no witches or wizards to be seen as I used the alternate design on the reverse side of the papers to create my layout.
If you followed our blog last month the Design Team used Cut Files...well its clear to see that I may have loved using them.
I firstly created a background layering 2 design papers on a light blue plain co-ordinating
12 x 12 cardstock - so I now had 3 layers.
I used a light Blue cardstock as my base, the "Letter" page on the red/orange plaid side and on the very top I used "Raise Your Wand" blue plaid side up also.
I then used a Cut File of a school bag.
I filled the cut file using the "Multi Journaling Cards" paper star side up and the "3x4 Journaling Cards" paper stripe side up for the front pocket of the bag.
It was then glued to my page to the left hand side.
Where I would normally mount my photo on a photo mat leaving a small edge all around I chose to paper clip it at an angle this time. Using some double sided tape behind the photo so it does not move off the cardstock.
Then added Dimensionals to give it height before I adhered it to the page.
In one of the paperclips I placed a die cut frame I cut from Chalkboard stickers and placed a "2022" sticker on it.
I used my Cricut to cut out pencils and erasers.
These I used as my ephemera to decorate.
I then added a Wooden ruler and some larger paperclips in above the photo to add to the theme of "Back to School".
Lastly I finished off by adding some wooden alphabet charms to create the title.
So that completes my "Back to School" layout.
I hope you liked it and it has given you some inspiration for designing your project.
Until next time.
Happy Crafting
Niki
