Back to School - Witches & Wizards

Hello my crafty friends.

Our Design Team this month has showcased their gorgeous layouts with a "Back to School" theme.
There was no specification given on what type of school you went back too.
As I had Harry Potter Themed papers to play with; well then I had a bit of fun and sent my husband back to a Wizard School straight from the 9 3/4 Platform at Kings Cross.

1. I'm using the 12 x 12 "Wizard Daily News" sheet as is as my background.

2. From the 12 x 12 sheet named "Journaling Cards" you will cut out the Owl sitting on the suitcases.
I separated all the pieces so I can mount them on dimensionals at different heights.

3.Also cut out the journaling card "I'm a wizard in training" and sized it to 2 1/4 x 3 3/4.
Mat this with green cardstock.

4. Then on the reverse of that same sheet you have the striped page; cut a strip 12 x 1.
Then like you do your photo mats, mat that strip onto green cardstock.

5. From the 12 x 12 sheet "Cast a Spell" on the yellow plaid side cut a strip off the top 4 inches wide. Leave it at 12 inches long.
Then mount that piece to brown cardstock.
Adhere that matted piece to your page 4 1/2 inches down from the top of your 12 x 12 background.

6. Straight underneath that adhere your striped 1 inch piece.

7. From that same "Cast a Spell" sheet on the words side cut a piece 6 1/4 wide x 8 long.
Now mount that to brown cardstock as well.

8. Then adhere your "Cast a Spell" words piece just under the "Everyday is a Chance to Find Magic" Title on your background page and just to the right of the title " Magic is in the Air".

***NOTE: do not add glue/tape to the bottom 1 inch of that piece so that you can arrange bunting underneath.

9. From the "Banners" page fussy cut a strip of bunting.
After fussy cutting the bunting is flexible; start adhering  the bunting begining from the left corner under the striped piece and work along gluing as you go, then slip it under your brown mat with the "Cast a Spell" paper on it.
Continue along to the right hand side corner up to the striped piece once again.

10. Mat your 4 x 6 photo.
Adhere this centre of your "Cast a Spell" piece.

11. to the left of your photo and slightly up a bit adhere your "I'm a Wizard in Training" journaling card you previous cut and matted.

12. To the bottom left of the journaling card adhere the owl and suitcases.
As the matted pieces layered on your card create bulb - when sticking your owl and suitcases you may need pieces on dimensionals of different thicknesses.

13. I cut on my Cricut a Hogwarts Crest and adhered that to the right of the photo.
But if you don't have that available you can always fussy cut an element from one of the other pages available.

That completes this layout.
Hope you have fun making it too.

Until Next time.

Happy Crafting.
