Hi Crafters, I hope November is treating you well so far!
Its Crystal here with you today.
Welcome to MAJA DESIGNS Month here at Craft on the Run.
Well "Maja Designs" would have to be one of my favourite paper range companies. I love the way they incorporate a Romantic Vintage Feel to all of their collections, I'm sure you will be able to agree with me over the coming month with all the amazing designs and layouts created with these papers.
Today I'm sharing with you 3 Christmas cards I've created with the beautiful Maja Designs - Traditional Christmas paper range.
I have used multiple papers from the 6x6'' Paper Pad and the large cut apart single sheet from the collection (as pictured below)
They are super simple and hopefully you can be inspired to get started on your own Xmas Cards.
CARD 1 - Gnomie with Tag
NOTE - For all 3 of these cards you will need white cardstock folded down to create Approx. 6x4'' cards.
Start by taking one of your 6x6'' papers to create your background and cut this down to
3 3/4'' x 5 3/4'' (all measurements are approximate) Distress edges, and adhere to the front of your cardstock leaving a small boarder.
As you can see in the picture above I wanted a scalloped edge for the second layer of this card so I have used a Uniquely Creative Die that actually cuts a boarder and an insert, Once cut out I flipped the scalloped boarder over so it shows the opposite side of the paper for more dimension (You could use any die in your stash for this) Adhere 1/4'' down from the first pattern paper.
Using the large 12x12'' gnome cut-out sheet, Pick one of the gnome tags cut out and distress edges. Punch hole in top and use twine to tie a bow.
The Red boarder and the "Merry Christmas" sentiment I've used here on this card is also from the same cut-out sheet. I've used my scalpel to cut out the 3x4'' rectangular red boarder and distressed the edges.
Take the sentiment and adhere to a scrap piece of pattern paper cut out and distress edges.
Using foam tape adhere red boarder to middle of pattern paper #2, and then also using foam tape adhere your gnome tag to the middle of your boarder on a slight angle.
Finish it off by adhering your sentiment to the space left on bottom of pattern paper #1.. and if your like me you might want to add some bling and these little hollies are super fun and cute to do so.
CARD 2 - Chilling with my Gnomies
Cut down your #1 pattern paper to 5 3/4''x 3 3/4'' Distress edges and adhere to white cardstock base leaving a small boarder around the edge.
To make the center strip on this card I used both the front and back of multiple patterned papers from leftovers. First piece is cut to 2 1/2'' x 5 3/4''. Second strip is cut to 2'' x 5 3/4'' Distress edges. The last two pieces are torn slightly smaller than the previous. Adhere all together like picture below.
Once the 4 paper Centre stack is pieced and adhered together, tape this down to the center of pattern paper #1 (previously adhered to cardstock)
Taking 3 of the miniature gnomes from the 6x6'' paper pad, fussy cut them out and adhere with foam tape to the center of card running along the middle stack.
Adhere a Christmas sentiment centrally at the bottom of card with mount tape and add some holly bling (See finished card above for reference of placement)
CARD 3 - Diamond Gnome
Start by cutting down pattern paper to 3 3/4'' x 5 3/4'' Distress edges and adhere to white cardstock leaving a small boarder.
Cut a second pattern paper down to 3 1/2'' x 5 1/4'' Distress edges and adhere to center of pattern paper #1.
Using your scalpel go ahead and cut out two different sized boarders the larger square boarder is from the 12''x12'' cut apart paper and the small square boarder is from the 6''x6'' paper pad. Save the center of the square boarder. Distress All
Adhere rectangle boarder 1/2 from the bottom of pattern paper #2.
Using foam tape mount the square boarder diagonally to the Centre of rectangle boarder.
Using foam mount adhere the center gnome picture central inside the diagonal boarder.
For this card as you can see below I fussy cut a second gnome picture and used foam tape to create a 3D effect
I finished off the card with a Christmas sentiment adhered centrally at the top of pattern paper #2 and some holly. (See picture Above for placement reference)
Here are my finished cards for your reference once again...
