AUSSIE Theme - Our Australia

 Hi my crafty friends.

This month our Design Team was asked to present you an Australian Theme.

You may recall earlier this month I shared with you layout from a trip we did to Gallipoli for ANZAC Day.
For this next layout I have chosen to stay with the ANZAC theme, only this time we were in Australia.

Today I share with you a 2 page layout of another special and memorable trip we did to Canberra in 2014.

My husband proudly marched alongside his mates and 3 of Australia's Victoria Cross Recipients in front of thousands of people and in front of Prince William and Princess Kate at Canberra's War Memorial on ANZAC Day.
For him it was such an Honour after serving his country for 20 years.

As Scrapbooker's we tend to find papers all over the place, on a lunch out and about we were served our fish and chips on some fancy paper which I thought would be perfect for my theme so I asked the waitress if I could please have a new sheet of it...I did get a funny look but then explained to her what I was using it for.
We Scrapbooker's will do anything to get pretty paper !!

Today I am using 2 beautiful collections Uniquely Creative - Tapestry Of Time
and Feature Art - Lest we forget.
Mix and Matching elements from both.

1. Using U/C Memories page as the first page background and as you get two sheets of each in the pack I simply turned that same page over to use the other side for the background of page 2.

2. From Feature Art - "At The Front" cut a piece 9 x 3 1/4 as the colours matched nicely.
Stick this piece 5 1/4 inches down from the top and 1 1/2 inches in from each side.

3. From the specialty paper I cut and mounted on black cardstock the "Our Australia"
But you could use any title you may have in your stash or simply print the words off on your printer.
Adhere this banner to 3/4 inches from the top.

4. On your second page - cut two strips from Feature Art - "At the Front".
The strip of poppy's and the strip of polka dots and adhere these both centring them on your second layout page.

5. Cut 8 x photos to 4 x 2 7/8 and photo mat them.

6. Cut 1 feature photo to 3 1/2 x 4 and photo mat as well.

7. Arrange photos on page 1 with 4 photos on the outer edge and your feature photo in the middle spacing them all apart evenly.

8. On page two - arrange your 4 photos evenly to the right hand side of your page
leaving a space down the left hand side for a strip of journaling or a write up about Anzac Day. I used the specialty paper I had and mounted on black cardstock.
You could easily print something out on your printer.

 9. Fussy cut and ink distress various small embellishment's from Uniquely Creative "Old News Paper" sheet.

10. From the Uniquely Creative - "We will remember" - Cut-a-part sheet; cut out the "war Memorial" Banner and the "Anzac Memories" disc.

11. Fussy cut from Feature Art " Embellishment" sheet: the postcard, the Lest We Forget banner and the 25th April Tag.

N.B: Don't forget to distress ink all these elements.

12. Arrange some of the small piece on page 1
Place some to either side of the main centre photo.

13.  Place the "Lest We Forget" banner to the bottom right hand side corner of the 2nd page

14. At the top of photos place the "25th April" Tag with additional ephemera.

That concludes our 2 page layout.

I hope you liked the layout and I've hopefully inspired you to create one yourself.
Be sure to share your creations with us.

Until Next time.

Happy Crafting.
