PEAR - Cut-File

Hello again my crafty friends.
By now you may have seen the other design teams gorgeous layouts using cut files; have you tried creating a layout using one yet?

They are real fun to play with and can be themed to whatever papers or photos you have.
Grab a Cut File from Craft On The Run there are plenty to choose from.
Words or pictures there's sure to be a cut file that suits.

Today I'll be playing with this cute cut file which was really intended for lemons...but who said it had to be lemons?
My paper and photos were all about "pears" so I made it suit my page.
When life give's you lemons give them to a crafter and she'll turn them into pears!

I've taken the "Homegrown" designer paper from Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden.
I will be using the side with all the pears on it.

1. Lay your cut file over the top and with a pencil traced around the outer edges of the fruit.

2. Cut out along your pencil mark.
If any bits are sticking out you can take a sharp craft knife and trim any excess showing.

3. Glue your paper onto the back of the cut file - I only placed a backing behind the fruit not the leaves.

4. Take a Medium coloured green piece of cardstock and cut to 12" x 12".
Cut a square out of the middle of that piece 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" to use for your photo mats later.

5. Take a darker piece of green cardstock and cut that to 11 1/4" x 11 1/4".
Cut a square out of the middle of that piece 8 1/2" x8 1/2" and keep as spare.

6. Cut the "Cantaloupe" (apricot coloured sheet) to 10"x10".
Cut a square out of the middle of that piece 7" x 7" and keep as spare.

7. Cut the "Sweet Pea" (green coloured sheet) to 9"x9".
Leave this sheet whole - DO NOT CUT OUT THE CENTRE.

So now you should have all 4 sheets to layer one on top of the other leaving equal space around them.
Adhere and that is your background ready.

8. Adhere the cut file to the left of the page.

9. Fussy cut the flower arrangement from "Elements" page.
Adhere on dimensionals to top of cut file between the top two leaves.

10. Mat your Photos using the centre piece you cut previously from the Green sheet that was cut to 12"x12".
 Photos were cut to approximately 3 1/2" x 2 1/4"
and the photo mats cut to an 1/8" larger than the photos.

11. Adhere your photos to the right hand side of the page .

12. Add your title along the bottom of your page.

That completes our Cut File layout.

I do hope you will give cut files a go, and don't forget to post any of your creation's so we can see what you have made.

Until next time

Happy Crafting

Niki
