Halloween In Dreamland - TRICK OR TREAT

 Hi again my crafty friends.

October - here we are!

How many of you do Halloween?
Funnily enough I don't do Halloween, however I have a niece and nephew who do and so gave me the perfect opportunity to play with the gorgeous paper range by Memory Place called
Halloween In Dreamland.

The illustrations and the cuteness is enough to make anyone what to create something special with them...and so I did.

You will need 3 sheets of the Halloween in Dreamland 01 - if purchasing the paper pack you will only have 2 sheets in there, but you can purchased more individually.

Get your fussy cutting scissors and craft knife out my crafty friends because this layout is all about "Fussy Cutting" and layering.

1. On your first Halloween in dreamland sheet, you will need to use your craft knife to fussy cut around the floral arch staring with the inside then you can work on the outside.
I thought doing the inside first was better as it gave me something to hold onto as I rotated the paper to cut around the flowers etc.
(for all intensive purpose we will call this sheet 1)

2. Once you have that done; cut off the bottom black and white checked pattern piece keeping the book element attached.

3. Now start working and fussy cutting on the outside of the floral arch still on sheet 1.

4. Now you should have a complete floral arch including the book along the bottom.
Keep the top piece of the 12 x 12 intact as you will need to use that after.

5. With your second sheet of the "Halloween in Dreamland 01" (sheet 2) only fussy cut around the book, so you will cut away all of the black and white checked piece once again.
 Leave the rest intact.

6. Add your photo onto sheet 2 inside the arch area, then using foam mounts attach the arch and book piece (from sheet 1) over the top of the arch and book piece still on the 12 x 12 page (sheet 2) and your photo.

7. From your 3rd sheet of Halloween in Dreamland (sheet 3) cut out just the book element.

8. Then from sheet 3 again; cut along the top a 2 1/2 inch strip.
With that strip - turn it over to the purple patterned side and attach that along the back of the book so that it is your new background.
So, in other words it replaces where the black checked piece was.

NOTE: You should now have the middle of that page remaining as you cut the top 2 1/2 inches off and the bottom book element.

9.  From sheet 1 you cut your first arch from, you can now fussy cut all the images on that sheet and you will need to keep the remaining part of sheet 3 for other elements we will add to page for dimension.

10. In your ephemera pack you will need to fussy cut the flower arrangement and use the "Trick or Treat" round element.
Add this to the top of your arch.
Add any flowers you might like from left over sheet 1.

11. Now start layering your elements you fussy cut from your left over sheets and add them to your page.

I've added extra elements to fill the space so that it sits on the book pages.
Add them with foam mounts to give a layered ad 3D effect.

12. For the little elephant and bear in the pumpkin on the swing. I carefully fussy cut the flowers and continued along the swing cords to keep it all together as well as the little animals and glued them on with scrap dots.

Scrap dots gives dimension and allows you unlike foam mounts to play with height and its not instant, so you can still move it around into position.

You will notice I have a third layer on the elephant, but I've only used the head part, it makes it 3D and a little like doing Paper Toll. On the bear I used the third layer and only cut the pumpkin and so it looks as if the pumpkin is 3D.
I did the same for the bear with the broom on the other side, just using his head and hat.

Add leaves, add more books...just add whatever elements you want to your page .

So there you have it my crafty friends, another page you may like to create yourself or even change up and make it yours.
Be sure to share your creation with us.

Until next time.

Happy Crafting.
