Your smile brightens up my day!

Your smile brightens up my day!

Hi Everyone, Rachel here!

Today I'm sharing a gorgeous card that is focusing on the background colours using Distress inks and how you can make it to suit your card theme. It's quite a simple card and you don't need many supplies, but boy does it have impact!

Featured on this card;
Distress Ink - Spiced Marmalade
Distress ink - Squeezed Lemonade
Paper Rose Sentiment Sheets
Sequins
Foam Squares
Kasiercraft - Crochet Doilies
Black card stock
Stamp or hand drawn shape

Supplies.

To start with, I cut my paper to size for the card. I then applied the Distress inks in a random way to create a background colour. By doing this you will also make the Doilies stand out more.

Next I chose a sentiment from the Paper Rose Sentiment sheets. I also decided on using a black piece of card stock to frame the Doilies piece of paper we just finished inking.

I decided it would also need some sort of picture to add to the features of this card. I have chosen this stamp but I'm sure you could also draw it with a black fine liner. To finish it off I used Copic Sketch markers to colour the segments in different yellows and oranges.

Before you stick everything down have a play with placement. Where do the images look good, do you you need more for example? After you are happy with it all, glue the sequins down and place foam squares under the images and sentiment to raise them up.

And... we are done! A beautiful bright card that will brighten anyone's day.

A close up of the finer details.

There are so many possibilities with Kasiercraft - Crochet Doilies.
Have a play and don't be scared to try out some different Distress Ink colour combos.

Happy card making friends...
