Repurposed Stamp Block

I completed this project a little while ago but I hadn't put it on my blog, so I thought I would share it with you.

I was recently sorting my stamp collection and took all my stamps from my wood mounted blocks and turned them into cling back, so they can be used on acrylic blocks.

So I had these wood blocks left over and didn't want to throw them out, but didn't know what to do with them.

  I wanted to repurposed them in some way and this was the end result. 

                                                                                                                                                                        

I cleaned the block to remove the sticky from it and then I  covered the block in some travel themed washi tape, I then took some clock embellishments and glued them to the front of the block with glossy accents.

I then used some little glass bottles and stuck them to the top of the block, placed some photo pin holders into the cork tops and took a piece of printed paper with the word journey on it and rolled it up and placed inside the clear bottle, to give me a message in a bottle effect.

This has now been repurposed into a cute little photo holder.

Pack Your Bags Travel Case

I had to take pictures of this project that my daughter just completed recently.

She wanted something to give her best friend for her 21st Birthday. Something she would remember forever.

  She organised a surprise holiday to Bali, but didn't quite know how to present her with it until she came across this little case.

She created this beautiful travel case, all the while trying to keep it a secret from her friend.

She used an old luggage tag and copied it onto some card stock and created her own. The numbers relate to her friend's birthday and the date they are leaving.

This was the inside of the case. She placed items relevant to their holiday.

She placed the travel itinerary inside , along with a handwritten letter and some Bali coins.

This plane embellishment was hung from the lid with the Airline they are flying with written on the side.

She wrapped up some Bali brochures of the places she has booked for them to go. Swimming with the dolphins is on the agenda.

These are some more embellishments she placed inside the top of the case.

I love that she decorated the whole case from front to back and inside. She did a wonderful job and her friend was overwhelmed and lost for words upon presentation of such a beautiful gift.

There is nothing like the true value of friendship.

Exquisite - Take Note

I used a sheet from the 6' x 6' paper pad for the photo mat. The word banner is the barcode cut from the bottom of the 12'x12' paper.The scallop edge on the right hand side was a cut out embellishment used from the back of the 6'x6' paper pad.

These flowers are from my stash. The brown tones really went well with the layout. From memory they are Prima flowers and the layered paper flower is Tim Holtz.

 These chipboard words are from ScrapMatts.

I just inked around them with a little Pinecone ink.

This page designed itself really. I love the simplicity of it. I also love how I was able to design two completely different layout's using the same paper range.

Cherish Moments Together - Take Note

Well time to play catch up on my design pieces.

This single page layout was inspired by the beautiful picture my daughter took of herself and her brother.

I wanted to add some texture to the background, so I used a honeycomb stencil and some gesso.

I love the chipboard words, which are from ScrapMatts 

        I used some script washi tape in the top right hand corner and some small Kaiser blooms to finish the embellishment off.

     Some Kaiser flowers with some Dusty Attic leaves to create the floral cluster. 

I used the 6' x 6' paper pad to place behind the photo to create a photo mat. I love to place my pictures on a angle too. I am not a straight lines kind of girl.

I also like to print my pictures with the white border as it creates a photo mat effect.

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2014

Welcome to 2014 and I hope you are all taking some time to create.

I can't believe I have been missing in action for a few months. Note to self and New Year's resolution, keep blog up to date with new designs and projects.

I am loving Pinterest for inspiration at the moment and I wish there were more hours in the day to create without real life getting in the way. Housework & Bookwork be gone...mmm wonder if I can hire a bookkeeper and a cleaner = more time for me to play.

I have also been very busy designing and working for Made with Memories. I landed my dream job when my very good friend Judy bought the business last year. It really isn't a job when you love what you do and if you don't love it then your not in the right job!!

I have also been very blessed to have reunited with my son after a number of years. He has a gorgeous partner and he is a step parent to her son. He is the most adorable little boy, so I have become a nan and while that freaks me out, as I think I am way too young to be a nan, I think back to when I had my daughter. My mum became a nan in her early 40's, so now I can't say I'm too young. I am ready to embrace it and be the best nan ever!!!

My daughter will turn 21 this year and she has the craziest theme picked for it and lets just say it will be SWEET!! Stay tuned.

My youngest son starts school on Monday 3rd Feb and he will be in Yr 10. Wow. It scares me how fast he is growing up.

Well I better get a move on and pick him up from the skate park, go have a cuppa with my mum and then home to dinner and then hopefully a little creating.

This year is my year of completing projects that have been sitting for many months, if not years and clearing out those things that are not needed or will be used. Ready to make room for all the new stuff!!!
