Love you for Craft on the Run

Hi all,

This month I have had the pleasure of working with the Cerulean Spring collection from 3Quarter Designs.

From my stash I added a piece of 12x12 corrugated card from Dusty Attic and a 12x12 piece of water colour cardstock.

I also used Brusho's water colour crystals in Prussian Blue, Emerald Green and Light Brown, Inka Gold Cobalt Blue, Distress Oxide Vintage Photo, Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch and Black Stazon ink.

The first thing I did was fussy cut out all the elements. I was unsure at this point what I was going to use but it never hurts to have it all ready anyhow.

Before I started on the background I worked on the corrugated card. I painted it with acrylic paints, but I didn't like the end result so I painted over it with white gesso and then used the Brusho's watercolour crystals. I simply sprinkled some on then activated with a spray of water and let the paint run and blend.

I then used the same Brusho's on the background, however I dilute them in water first. I wet the watercolour paper and dripped the diluted Brusho's over the page. Once I was satisfied I began added texture with inks and stencils/stamps.

I then began layering. I used the corrugated card and one of the papers from the collection. I tore both on a slight angle and adhered to the top of the page. I then continued to use the same patterned paper to create the layers behind my photo. I distressed all the edges and kept layering until I'd run out of paper. I included a layer of torn vellum from the collection.

Finally I embellished with the fussy cut pieces which I distressed the edges as well as a piece from the chipboard.

I finished by spreading some of the Colbalt Blue Inka Gold through a stencil around the page.

Stay tuned for page number 2...
