December using Mintay Papers Wonderland

  Hi all,

I'm sharing another layout using the Beautiful
Winter Wonderland Collection from Mintay Papers.

Again for this layout there was some fussy cutting involved. I choose a piece of white textured cardstock from my stash as the base and added a four inch stripe of the snowflake page across the top of the page.

To that I then layered diagonally from top right to bottom left the frames and photo mats. Once the base was complete I went about embellishing with all the fussy cut elements. I layered some with foam tape for dimension, some in behind others and some on top. I made sure that all the elements were touching. this helps them to look grounded rather than floating in space.

Finally I added some chipboard pieces and called it done.

I plan on using this page for our 2020 Christmas so I have left the photo mats bare.

Check out below for some close up photos.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you in some way today.

Happy Crafting xx

Merry and Bright using Mintay's Winter Wonderland

 Hi all,

I'm up on the Craft on the Run blog today sharing my latest layout using the Beautiful Winter Wonderland Collection from Mintay Papers and let me just say this collection is truly stunning.

As soon as I saw the snow globe page I immediately wanted to make a giant snow globe shaker page.

Now I'm not going to lie this did present a challenge some what.
But I was determined.

To began to slowly cut around the inside of the globe with a scalpel. I cut around the most predominant images on the page and left a border approx 1/4 inch thick around the entire globe (this is needed to hide and adhere the tape which gives the dimensional lift and allow the shaker sequins to move around). I then cut around the outside of the globe with scissors.

Next to make the shaker. Now we have the cut out we need to make the window. For this I used a piece of acetate and glued to the backside of the shaker and cut off the excess. To create the dimension I used double sided foam adhesive and cut thinly enough to hide behind the shaker.

Next I glued the shaker to the base page. I had chosen the same paper as the base. I left a gap big enough to pour the sequins in at the top before closing up the shaker.

Now that the shaker was complete I went to work on embellishing with the elements from the cut a part sheet and chipboard pieces.

I am yet to add a phot as I want to save it for my Christmas 2020 photos.
