Happiest Place on Earth....

Wow only 24 days until Christmas!!! Where has this year gone?? Way to fast for me. I just seem to run out of time to just sit and update my blog without feeling guilty because I should be ticking off all the other jobs/ideas/projects. Why is that? Is it selfish to just want to sit and blog all day?

Well time to feel guilty and sit and blog for a few hours with some of my finished projects.

Here is my one of my layouts I recently taught at Made with Memories.

When I saw these papers I was drawn to the red pokadot as it reminded me
of Disneyland and Minnie Mouse.

I knew I had some pictures from our holiday to the United States in 2012 and my husband and I visited Disneyland. It was amazing and I would love to take my children there in the near future.

I have used some Dusty Attic chipboard. Hashtag words, Word Pebbles, arrows and Script words.
Some twine and Tim Holtz Tissue Tape.

The journalling was printed onto some Kraft card stock with my printer and when I travel I try to journal in my diary daily so that I can use it on my pages.

I have coloured the chipboard with the Distress Ink - Picket Fence white paint dabber. When I paint the chipboard, I leave it in the chipboard and after the paint has dried , I pop it out. I find it covers easier and I don't end up with paint all over the place.

This layout is inspired by a page map that I had found on the internet. The sketch is from Debbie Hodge. Sketch #22 October 2009. As you can see from my scribble, I used this for inspiration and I changed the photo sizes and flipped the pages. My interpretation is the sketch below.

As you can see my sketch is no way professional, but just a quick sketch to remind me of placement and photo sizes. Where to place the patterned paper, titles and journalling.
I find using page maps help with the creative block, sometimes I just can't find the inspiration to create my own designs or I am time poor, so this allows me to complete layouts quicker.

This is the completed layout and I have to say it really works well with my photo's.
Now to find the time to get the album completed.
Who needs sleep right?
